Venezuela reports 6,438 deaths from June twin earthquakes
In June, two very big earthquakes shook the country of Venezuela.
They were so strong that many people got hurt or lost their homes.
The government counted how many people died, and the number went up to 6,438.
Workers checked almost 60,000 buildings to see if they were safe to live in.
They used colored tags like a traffic light: green means safe, yellow means careful, and red means very dangerous.
Many families are staying in shelters, especially in a place called La Guaira.
Kind countries from around the world sent help, like food and supplies.
More than 2,000 tons of that help arrived in the capital, Caracas.
The government is working to give new homes to families who lost theirs.
It will take a long time for everything to get better.
Venezuela's official death toll from the June 24 twin earthquakes rose to 6,438, an increase of 137 from the previous week.
Authorities have delivered 335 homes to affected families and inspected 59,109 buildings for safety.
Of the buildings assessed, 34,680 were habitable, 13,733 had restricted access, and 10,696 were high-risk.
The magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes struck on June 24, with epicenters in Yaracuy and La Guaira states.
La Guaira has 10,981 people in shelters, Caracas 6,133, and Miranda 1,323, while aid from 28 countries is being distributed.
