Venezuela Earthquakes Kill Over 6,000, 17,000 Injured and 1,400 Missing

In June, two big earthquakes hit Venezuela, shaking the ground hard enough to break many buildings.

Over 6,000 people died and 17,000 were hurt.

Some people are still missing, maybe as many as 10,000.

Many homes were destroyed or unsafe, so about 24,000 people had to live in temporary shelters.

The government made a new law to let people rent houses more easily, hoping it could help up to 400,000 people.

The interim leader said they will give 4,000 homes to victims by the end of the year and aim for 10,000 by 2027.
