Sreevani Marks 500th Edition, Vows To Uphold Telugu Values
In Vijayawada, people celebrated a big birthday for a magazine called Sreevani.
It is a Telugu magazine and it just printed its 500th edition.
That means it has been sharing stories and ideas for a very long time.
Many important guests came to the party.
The governor of Odisha said the magazine keeps old values and the Telugu language alive.
A former Chief Justice of India also came and launched the new edition.
The magazine was started by a man named Komaragiri Krishnamohan Rao.
Now his two sons run the magazine and follow his dreams.
People also launched a new book and a music CD at the celebration.
Everyone hopes the magazine will keep going for many more editions.
Telugu monthly magazine Sreevani released its 500th edition on Saturday at Thummalapalli Kshetrayya Kalakshetram in Vijayawada.
Odisha Governor Dr Kambhampati Haribabu praised Sreevani's uninterrupted journey in preserving moral values, Indian cultural traditions and the Telugu language.
Former Chief Justice of India Justice N.V. Ramana released the 500th edition and recalled founder Krishnamohan Rao's contributions to democracy, the Andhra movement and education in Telugu.
The magazine is carried forward by Komaragiri Chandrasekhar and editor-in-chief Komaragiri Shyam Prasad, sons of founder-president late Komaragiri Krishnamohan Rao.
The event also featured the release of the book Merunagari Himagiri Komaragiri and a Geethamalika CD, along with a documentary, photo exhibition and felicitation of authors.
Sreevani 500th edition celebrations drew dignitaries including Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust managing trustee R.J. Ratnakar, Minister Kollu Ravindra and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath.
