United States Announces $31 Million for Nepal Flood Recovery
The United States is giving Nepal another $31 million to recover from severe floods.
Some of the money will build permanent bridges.
Some will provide clean water, sanitation, shelter, protection, winter supplies and help restoring livelihoods.
The United States also plans to provide drones made by US companies for future emergencies.
This brings total US support for Nepal’s flood recovery to more than $36 million.
The floods affected parts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.
Many people remain displaced, and authorities are working to identify recovered bodies through DNA testing.
Nepal’s leaders are also discussing climate change and recovery needs at the United Nations General Assembly.
