BTC Marks 6th Bodo Peace Accord Day
On January 27, the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) government celebrated the 6th Bodo Peace Agreement Day in Kokrajhar.
The BTC Chief, Hagrama Mohilary, spoke about the need to implement the remaining parts of the peace agreement.
He promised to talk with the state and central governments to give special status to Bodo people in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.
Many important leaders were present, and they all agreed that peace and development are very important for the Bodoland region.
The Bodo Peace Agreement was signed in 2020 to bring peace and stability to the area.
The BTC government observed the 6th Bodo Peace Agreement Day in Kokrajhar.
BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary reaffirmed commitment to implementing pending clauses of the peace accord.
Discussions will be held with state and central governments to grant Scheduled Tribe (Hills) status to Bodo residents of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.
Developmental projects outlined in the accord will be implemented in a phased manner.
The event was attended by various political leaders and representatives of signatory organizations.
