World Leaders Gather for 2026 BRICS Summit in New Delhi
India is hosting a large meeting called the BRICS summit in New Delhi.
It will take place on September 12 and 13, 2026.
Leaders from countries such as China, Russia, South Africa, Iran and Egypt are expected to attend.
India, Brazil, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are also part of the expanded group.
Leaders from several partner countries have been invited too.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres is expected to join the meeting.
The leaders will discuss trade, energy, food, investment and how countries can work together.
Before the summit, business leaders will meet to discuss commerce, technology and supply chains.
India will host the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi on September 12-13, 2026.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and other leaders from the expanded 11-member grouping are expected to attend.
Partner and outreach invitees, including leaders from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Thailand, Cuba, Nigeria, Uzbekistan and Uganda, are also expected.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres is expected to participate in the summit.
Discussions will cover multilateralism, trade, investment, energy, food security, supply chains and global governance.
