GMC to introduce 200 e-autos for waste collection
The Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) has decided to start collecting waste from every house and business in the city using 200 electric cars.
The commissioner, K Mayur Ashok, had a meeting with officials to plan how to do this.
They will use GPS trackers to keep track of the waste collection and will also use 10 big machines to clean the main roads at night.
This is to make the city cleaner and help the environment.
Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) plans to implement 100% door-to-door waste collection using 200 e-autos.
GMC commissioner K Mayur Ashok conducted a meeting to prepare a ward-wise plan for the initiative.
GPS trackers will be installed on the e-autos to monitor waste collection routes.
Records of waste collected in every trip will be maintained.
GMC’s ten sweeping machines will be used to clean main roads during the night.
