Jaishankar Meets Ivorian Leaders to Deepen India-Côte d’Ivoire Cooperation
India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, visited Côte d’Ivoire.
He met leaders responsible for defence and foreign relations.
They talked about working more closely on defence and fighting terrorism.
They also discussed training and building skills and institutions.
Jaishankar and Foreign Minister Niale Kaba spoke about trade, farming, healthcare and other areas.
He said India’s work should fit the needs of people in Côte d’Ivoire.
He also met people who had studied through India’s ITEC programme.
Officials from both countries separately discussed cooperation in education and job skills.

The discussions included training, capacity building and stronger institutional exchanges.
Jaishankar met Foreign and International Cooperation Minister Niale Kaba to discuss trade, investment, infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare and people-to-people ties.
He said cooperation would be guided by Côte d’Ivoire’s priorities and also discussed engagement in multilateral forums.
Jaishankar met Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation programme alumni; separate talks between the countries’ officials addressed education, skills and capacity building.
