India and Ghana Seek Wider Cooperation During Jaishankar Visit
India’s foreign minister, S. Jaishankar, visited Ghana and met its foreign minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
They talked about ways India and Ghana can work more closely together.
Their topics included trade, medicines, technology, defence and investment.
They also discussed training and development projects.
Ghana said agriculture, jobs, scholarships and computer technology would be part of the visit’s discussions.
The two countries also want to cooperate in international groups.
Jaishankar’s Ghana visit is scheduled for October 6 and 7, 2026.
After Ghana, he is expected to visit Côte d’Ivoire and Ethiopia.
India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Ghanaian Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in Accra.
They discussed cooperation in trade, investment, development, pharmaceuticals, capacity building, defence, technology and people-to-people ties.
The ministers also discussed multilateral cooperation and India’s engagement with the African Union and ECOWAS.
Ghana said the visit would cover pharmaceuticals, agricultural mechanisation, value addition, industrialisation, jobs, scholarships and IT partnerships.
Jaishankar’s official visit to Ghana is scheduled for October 6–7, 2026, followed by travel to Côte d’Ivoire and Ethiopia.
