NCW Seeks Action in Purulia Nursing Trainee Murder

The National Commission for Women took suo motu cognizance of the murder of a 19-year-old nursing trainee in Purulia.
NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar asked the West Bengal DGP for a comprehensive investigation and recovery of the murder weapon.
The commission sought forensic preservation, family protection and assistance, and an Action Taken Report within seven days.
Police reconstructed the crime scene with forensic experts and sealed the room where investigators say the killing occurred.
