He researched a heart disease called endomyocardial fibrosis.

He also helped bring 2D echocardiography to a government medical college in Thiruvananthapuram.

He received the Padma Shri award in 2009.

He worked at Government Medical College and was vice-chairman of KIMS Hospital.

Leaders said his work helped many heart patients and was an important contribution to healthcare.
