Mahua Moitra Alleges Late-Night Order to Vacate Krishnanagar Circuit House
TMC MP Mahua Moitra claims Nadia administration told her to leave circuit house late at night · scroll.in

A politician named Mahua Moitra went to a government guesthouse in India called the Krishnanagar Circuit House.

She checked in during the evening and was given the room she usually stays in.

She ate dinner there at around 9:20 pm.

Soon after that, at 9:47 pm, she got a phone call telling her to leave, and officials kept sending her messages.

She says a large crowd gathered outside and shouted religious slogans to scare her.

She posted a video online saying she would not back down.

She reminded everyone that India's Supreme Court had told her to stand strong like a freedom fighter, and that a court had promised her protection.

The district officials then sent a written order saying the guesthouse was closing for cleaning and maintenance.

Moitra thinks the order was really meant to harass her, and she refused to leave.

Other politicians asked the government to keep her safe, and the authorities did not comment.
