Assam Rifles seize drugs, protected plants worth Rs 26 crore

Special police soldiers called the Assam Rifles work in a part of India called the Northeast.

They joined with the regular police and the forest department to catch people carrying illegal things.

In one place, Cachar, they found many small pills called methamphetamine and some heroin powder.

These drugs are very dangerous and are worth more than 25 crore rupees.

They arrested three people who were carrying the drugs.

In another place, Mizoram, they stopped people taking a special plant called Anchiri from the forest.

This plant is protected because it is used as medicine and is also very valuable.

The police found more than ten thousand kilograms of the plant in big bags and arrested five more people.

Some of these illegal goods come from a nearby country called Myanmar, across a border that has no wall.

The police are working together to stop the smuggling and keep everyone safe.
