The Andhra Pradesh government wants women in self-help groups to earn more money.

It has set a goal of providing Rs 36,000 crore in bank loans to these groups.

So far, banks have provided Rs 15,054 crore to more than one lakh groups.

Another programme called Stree Nidhi has lent Rs 4,800 crore to 4.73 lakh women.

Officials were asked to help women understand that some bank loan charges are waived.

The government also wants every SHG woman to have life and accident insurance.

Four stores will sell products made by these women.

Training centres will teach skills such as laundry services, beauty work and hair cutting.

Officials were also asked to help farmers rent machinery cheaply through farmer organisations.
