Osmania General Hospital Upgrades Dermatology Facilities and Services
Osmania General Hospital has opened improved facilities for people with skin problems.
The new areas include a surgery theatre, a laser room and a special light-treatment room.
The department also received a library and a research room.
About 300 patients visit the department every day.
Between 50 and 75 of them attend the children’s skin clinic.
Doctors perform tests and treatments such as biopsies, cryotherapy and injections.
Phototherapy is free, and 15 to 20 patients use it each day.
Laser treatment is also free for problems such as scars, tattoos and unwanted hair.
The department also treats hair, nail, sexually transmitted and leprosy-related conditions.

The dermatology department treats about 300 outpatients daily, including 50 to 75 children.
Phototherapy and laser services are provided free of cost to patients.
