IIT Jammu’s 7th Convocation Awards 420 Degrees, Honors Top Students
IIT Jammu held its seventh convocation ceremony on September 28.
A convocation is a special event where students receive their degrees.
The institute awarded 420 degrees to students from the 2026 batch.
These included undergraduate, postgraduate, science, and Ph.D.
degrees.
Shankar M. Venugopal attended as the chief guest, and Amitabh Ranjan was the guest of honour.
Several students received gold and silver medals for strong academic performance.
The institute also presented a new sculpture called “Antardṛṣṭi,” which means “inner vision.”
Speakers encouraged the graduates to keep learning, stay connected to IIT Jammu, and use their knowledge to help society.

The degrees included 209 B.Tech, 124 M.Tech, 23 M.Sc., and 64 Ph.D. awards.
