Karnataka orders detailed inquiry into Yadgir gas leak deaths

Something dangerous happened at a medicine-making factory in a place called Yadgir, in Karnataka, India.

A gas called sulphur dioxide leaked out of the factory.

Three grown-ups who worked there got very sick from the gas and sadly died.

Two other workers were also hurt and are trying to get better.

The government's leaders were very sad about this.

They told officials to find out exactly why the gas leaked.

The company that owns the factory said it would give money — about Rs 20 lakh — to the families of each worker who died.

The government also promised more help through special worker programs.

Leaders said all factories in Karnataka should double-check their safety rules so this does not happen again.
