ESIC Expands India’s Medical Education and Healthcare Workforce

Its medical colleges have produced 4,961 doctors.

Among them are 1,682 children of insured workers.

More than 1,200 students have also completed postgraduate medical courses.

ESIC sets aside about 880 seats each year for workers’ children.

These seats include medical, dental, nursing and paramedical courses.

ESIC operates hospitals, dispensaries and colleges across India.

The government says its expanding education network will help create more medical professionals.
