Workers gave the dogs anti-rabies vaccines.

They also provided treatments to remove internal and external parasites.

More than 22,000 dogs were treated in the first eight working days.

The campaign began on August 11.

It first focused on three areas of the city: Tiruvottiyur, Manali, and Tondiarpet.

Officials said the campaign is meant to protect people from rabies.

The city plans to continue the work in its other zones.
