Forest Officer Arrested in Alleged Rs 30,000 Bribe Trap
Officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau set a trap after someone complained about a forest officer.
The complaint said the officer wanted Rs 30,000.
The money was allegedly demanded so podu cultivation could continue without interference.
The officer allegedly told the complainant to give the money to another person.
The handover was to take place at a home in Ramanujagudem.
The officials caught the forest officer during the operation.
They arrested him after the alleged incident.
He was then taken before a special court in Warangal.
The allegations will be dealt with through the legal process.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau allegedly caught Kachanapally forest beat officer Banoth Ravi Kumar accepting a Rs 30,000 bribe.
The trap was conducted on Thursday in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district after a complaint against Ravi Kumar.
The complainant alleged that Ravi Kumar sought money to avoid obstructing podu cultivation.
Ravi Kumar allegedly directed the complainant to give the money to Patan Sadiq Khan at his residence in Ramanujagudem.
The accused was arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Warangal.
