UP Vet Dies by Suicide After Accusing Woman of Rs 1.4 Crore Fraud
A man in India was very sad because someone tricked him out of a lot of money.
His name was Dr Parmatma Singh, and he took care of animals as a veterinary doctor.
He lived in a state called Uttar Pradesh.
He said a woman named Garima Singh took his important papers and used them to borrow money from six different banks.
He said she promised to help him with his home loan but instead he started getting calls asking him to pay back the loans.
He told the police about it, and she and her father were arrested and put in jail.
About a week later, the man climbed to the top of a tall building and jumped off.
He left a note saying what happened to him.
His wife quickly took him to the hospital, but the doctors could not save him.
The police are now investigating and checking the evidence to understand exactly what happened.
Dr Parmatma Singh, a 52-year-old veterinary officer in Maharajganj, died after jumping from the eighth floor of a building in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
He left a suicide note naming Garima Singh and her father Dhruv Narayan Singh, both of whom had already been arrested and were in jail over the alleged fraud.
About a week earlier, he had filed a police complaint alleging Garima Singh took his documents to get his home loan waived and instead secured loans from six banks in February.
The incident was captured on CCTV; his wife rushed him to a hospital, where doctors could not save him.
Police registered a fraud case, sent the body for post-mortem, and a forensic team collected evidence, according to City Superintendent of Police Nimish Patil.
