It is given to experienced scientists who have done amazing research for a long time.
The grant gives them 25 lakh rupees every year for five years.
That money helps them buy lab equipment, pay for helpers, and travel for their research.
The six scientists work in different subjects such as chemistry, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering.
The head of the school, V Kamakoti, said he is very proud of them.
He said it shows the school does very high-quality science.
To receive this honor, scientists must have published papers and created useful inventions.
It is a special prize that helps them keep discovering new things.
Six faculty members of IIT Madras have been offered the ANRF JC Bose Grant, a prestigious Indian research recognition for senior scientists and engineers.
The grant provides Rs 25 lakh annually for five years to support frontier research, including human resources, consumables, travel, equipment and institutional overhead.
Recipients span the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering.
IIT Madras Director V Kamakoti congratulated the recipients, saying it demonstrates the high quality of research and development in critical and emerging technologies at the institute.
