Someone made a scary phone call saying there was a bomb at a famous temple in Palani.

This happened on the day of a special festival called Aadi Krithigai, when many people from Tamil Nadu and Kerala were visiting the temple.

The police got worried and sent special teams with sniffer dogs to search for the bomb.

They looked everywhere — in the temple, the offices, the waiting rooms, the cloakroom and along the walking path.

After searching carefully, they did not find any bomb or anything dangerous.

The police said the threat was a hoax, which means it was a false alarm.

They still kept extra police and security at the temple to keep the devotees safe.

Later, the police found a 24-year-old man named Muniyappan and said he had made the call.

He said he did it because he was upset that he was not allowed a closer and longer view of the god.

He was arrested, and the police are investigating more.
