MARD Protest Over CCMP Registration Disrupts OPDs At Mumbai Hospitals

In the city of Mumbai, some doctors who are still learning their job decided to stop their usual work for a while.

They are angry because a rule may now allow homeopathy doctors, who also studied modern medicine, to be registered with the medical council.

The doctors shouted slogans like 'Say No To Mixopathy,' because they do not want homeopathy and modern medicine to be mixed up.

Because of this protest, the normal check-up rooms, called OPDs, were delayed, and many patients stood in long lines.

But the hospitals made sure that urgent help, serious care units, delivery rooms, and other important services kept running.

The protest was led by a doctors' group called MARD at several hospitals in Mumbai.

It all started the day after the state government made a six-member committee to create rules for registering these homeopathy doctors.

That committee will decide what these doctors can do, how mistakes are checked, and how they should behave with patients.

The protest also spread to other hospitals, including KEM, Sion, Nair and Cooper hospitals.

Now, everyone is hoping for a fair agreement so that patients can get care without waiting.
