Air India urges early airport arrival amid heightened security measures

A big airline called Air India told its passengers to come to the airport much earlier than they usually would.

This is because airports are making their security checks stronger, so things may take a little longer.

The special advice is for people flying between August 10 and August 20, 2026.

Air India shared the news in a post on a social media website called X. The airline asked travellers to give themselves extra time for checking in, getting their bags checked, and going through security.

Airports all over India are stepping up their security arrangements for those days.

Chennai International Airport also said it would be on high security alert during the same period.

Airport officials said the stronger checks are meant to keep passengers safe while keeping the airports running smoothly.

Air India said passengers who arrive early will probably have a smoother and easier trip.
