BRICS 2026 Summit Tests India’s Leadership and Global Ambitions
Assessing BRICS ahead of the 2026 summit · financialexpress.com

BRICS is a group of countries that work together on economic and political issues.

Its next summit will happen in New Delhi, India, in September 2026.

The group now has 11 full members and 10 associate members.

India has also proposed inviting five other countries as guests.

BRICS countries have a large share of the world’s people, land, economy and exports.

However, they do not trade with one another as much as they trade with countries outside the group.

India may encourage systems that let countries pay each other using their own currencies.

The countries do not currently agree on creating one shared BRICS currency.

The group could become a stronger alternative centre of global influence, but its members have very different governments and interests.
