Sankranti Travel and Cyber Fraud Alerts
For the Sankranti festival, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is running 6,431 special buses from 9 to 19 January to help people travel to their hometowns.
These buses will leave from big places in Hyderabad like MGBS, JBS, and Uppal Cross Roads.
The TGSRTC is also setting up temporary shelters, seats, and other facilities at these places to make travel easier.
Fares for these special buses will be higher on the busiest days, but women can still travel for free on certain buses.

Additionally, the Indian Railways is operating 150 special trains to manage the increased travel demand during the festival.
These trains will connect Hyderabad to various destinations in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tirupati, Shirdi, Nanded, and other important stations in Maharashtra.
Passengers are advised to check updated schedules due to redevelopment works at Secunderabad station.
The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has also warned about increased cyber frauds and online scams during the festive season.
They have cautioned citizens about fake Sankranti offers, discounts, cashback links, fraudulent booking websites, and fake instant loan offers.
The Hyderabad cyber crime police have arrested 43 cyber criminals from 15 states in December and recovered over Rs.2.05 crore, which they stole from various victims.
It is important to be cautious and verify the authenticity of any offers or messages received during this period.

Peak outbound travel dates for buses are 9, 10, 12, and 13 January, with return peaks on 18 and 19 January.
Special bus services will operate from major hubs in Hyderabad, including MGBS, JBS, and Uppal Cross Roads.
Enhanced passenger facilities like temporary pandals, seating, and mobile toilets are being installed at boarding points for buses.
Fares for special buses on peak dates will be increased by 1.5 times, while regular fares remain unchanged.
