Economy maintains strong start to FY27 as industrial production rises 6.7% in July · indianexpress.com

India’s factories and industries produced more goods in July than they did a year earlier.

Production rose by 6.7%.

This was slower than the revised growth rate of 8.8% in June.

Machines and equipment used by businesses grew especially quickly.

This can be a sign that companies are investing more.

Industrial growth for the first four months of the financial year was 6.3%.

That was higher than the 4% growth recorded during the same period last year.

The increase happened despite higher energy prices and uncertainty caused by the West Asia conflict.

Some economists believe India’s wider economy may also have grown strongly during the first quarter.
