Small Savings Rates Unchanged for July–September 2026 Quarter
The government checks the interest rates for small savings plans every three months.
For July to September 2026, it decided not to change the rates.
The Public Provident Fund, or PPF, will continue to pay 7.1% interest.
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and the Senior Citizens Savings Scheme will continue to pay 8.2%.
Other plans, such as the National Savings Certificate and Kisan Vikas Patra, also keep their existing rates.
These schemes are popular because they offer predictable returns and are backed by the government.

The Public Provident Fund rate remains 7.1% for its 15-year tenure, while the National Savings Certificate offers 7.7%.
The three-year Post Office Time Deposit rate is 7.1%, and the five-year deposit rate is 7.5%.
Most small savings rates have not changed since FY 2023-24, with the latest revisions made in April 2024.
