Virtual Reality Brings Dagdusheth Ganpati Aarti To Soldiers
About 45 soldiers at a rehabilitation centre in Khadki could not easily visit the crowded Dagdusheth Ganpati temple.
So, organizers brought the temple’s aarti to them using virtual reality.
The soldiers wore special VR headsets.
The headsets showed a 360-degree video that made it feel like they were at the temple.
The experience took place during the Ganesh festival.
The soldiers said they felt happy and blessed.
The initiative was organized by the Dagdusheth Ganpati Trust and Qubit.
Qubit has been creating this VR experience for 11 years.
Around 45 soldiers at the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre in Khadki experienced the Dagdusheth Ganpati aarti through virtual reality.
The initiative was organized by the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust and Pune-based technology company Qubit.
A 360-degree VR experience allowed soldiers to feel as though they were present before the deity during Ganeshotsav.
PRC Medical Director Dr. (Colonel) RK Mukherjee said crowds and mobility limitations make visiting the temple difficult for the soldiers.
Qubit has produced the Dagdusheth Ganpati VR experience for 10 years, making this the 11th year of the initiative.
