ICC Centenary Launch Highlights India’s Enterprise and Young Leaders
The Indian Chamber of Commerce celebrated 100 years by launching a new book about Indian businesses.
The book explains how private companies in India handled challenges and helped the economy grow.
Business leader Ajay Piramal spoke about the importance of keeping good values while changing businesses.
He said young people learn best when older leaders set a good example.
Economist Rajiv Kumar said India still has a lot of work to do before it becomes fully developed.
He encouraged young people to support innovation, research and new technology.
He also said people should keep learning throughout their lives.
The discussion was held by the ICC Young Leaders Forum.
Its goal is to help young professionals and entrepreneurs learn from experienced leaders.
The Indian Chamber of Commerce marked its centenary in Mumbai with the launch of the book Never Taking No for an Answer: India’s Indomitable Private Enterprise.
Ajay Piramal and economist Rajiv Kumar participated in a Young Leaders Forum fireside chat moderated by Ankit Gupta.
Piramal said businesses must evolve while leaders preserve values such as integrity, humility, authenticity and risk-taking.
Kumar said India remains unfinished in its transformation and needs innovation, research and technological breakthroughs to reach its development goals.
The book, edited by Kumar, examines Indian private enterprise from the freedom movement and License Raj through liberalisation and global expansion.
