TRAI Introduces New AI Rules To Tackle Spam Calls In India · timesnownews.com

India’s telecom regulator has introduced new rules to reduce spam calls.

Phone operators can flag numbers suspected of making unwanted commercial calls.

If five or more numbers are flagged within 10 days, the operator can check the sender’s identity again.

The operator may also physically verify the sender.

Outgoing calling services can be blocked as a further action.

Repeated rule-breaking can result in the phone connection being disconnected.

The rules also cover calls made by apps, automated systems, and software.

Robocalls, autodialed calls, prerecorded messages, and calls using artificial or recorded voices are included.
