Trump Claims US Controls Hormuz as Ship Traffic Plunges

The United States and Iran are at war.

The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow sea passage that ships use to carry oil and gas.

President Donald Trump says the US has "total control" over this strait.

He called the navy blockade a "WALL OF STEEL."

But much fewer ships are passing through than before the war.

Only eight ships crossed on Tuesday, compared with about 130 to 140 each day before the war.

The International Energy Agency says the world could get 4.3 million fewer barrels of oil every day this year.

That is about 4 percent less oil.

This could make energy more expensive for people everywhere.

Many countries are worried about their energy supplies because of the disruption.
