State Prepares Rs 6,000 Crore Package for Irrigation Land Acquisition

The State government wants to speed up several irrigation projects.

It says money should not stop land acquisition or related work.

The government plans to make about Rs 6,000 crore available this financial year.

This money will help acquire land and support families affected by the projects.

Officials expect to acquire nearly 40,000 acres over three years.

Some money has already been released, but more than Rs 1,000 crore is still waiting to be distributed.

Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy told district and irrigation officials to finish important steps within one to one-and-a-half months.

He also ordered faster work on the Gouravelli project and scheduled a review for next week.
