Shehnaaz Gill Seeks Brother’s Land Share to Promote Equality

Shehnaaz Gill talked about why girls and boys should be treated equally.

She said girls in Punjab may not receive family land because people expect them to marry and leave home.

She does not agree with that idea.

Her grandmother planned to give a piece of land to Shehnaaz’s brother, Shehbaz.

Shehnaaz asked to receive that land instead.

She said she would build something on it and then give it to her brother.

She also said she would not keep any money from it.

Shehnaaz believes every woman should be financially independent.

She encouraged women to speak up and protect their independence.
