Western Disturbance Brings Rain, Thunderstorms Across North India September 16-17
A weather system called a western disturbance is moving toward northern India.
It is expected to bring rain, lightning and thunderstorms on September 16 and 17.
Punjab and Rajasthan may receive the most widespread and heavier rain.
Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh may get scattered showers.
Other weather systems are also causing rain in central and eastern parts of India.
Very heavy rain has already fallen in Saurashtra and Kutch.

A low-pressure area over southwest Rajasthan near Kutch and southeast Pakistan has already produced extremely heavy rain in Saurashtra and Kutch.
The India Meteorological Department also forecast widespread rain across parts of central, eastern and northeastern India through September 21.
