It is expected to bring rain, lightning and thunderstorms on September 16 and 17.

Punjab and Rajasthan may receive the most widespread and heavier rain.

Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh may get scattered showers.

Other weather systems are also causing rain in central and eastern parts of India.

Very heavy rain has already fallen in Saurashtra and Kutch.

Jammu and Kashmir and nearby areas may also have similar weather on September 17.

The southwest monsoon may start leaving parts of western Rajasthan around September 19.
