Kanwar Yatra 2026 Kicks Off: Delhi Traffic Advisory
The Kanwar Yatra is a big pilgrimage that starts in July 2026.
Because many people will walk and set up camps, the Delhi Traffic Police warned that roads will be very busy.
They told drivers to avoid certain roads like Najafgarh Phirni Road and Rohtak Road.
Special paths were made for the pilgrims so they can walk safely.
Heavy trucks were not allowed in Ghaziabad, and some buses were also stopped.
Some highways, like NH-58, were closed and traffic was sent on other roads.
People traveling to places like Haridwar should plan ahead and use public transport if possible.
Delhi Traffic Police warned of severe congestion on major arterial roads during Kanwar Yatra 2026.
Key routes to avoid include Najafgarh Phirni Road, Rohtak Road, Pankha Road, Dev Prakash Shastri Marg, Nangloi‑Najafgarh Road, and Outer Ring Road.
Dedicated corridors were set up for foot‑pilgrims on Rohtak, Najafgarh, Outer Ring, and Dev Prakash Shastri Marg routes.
Heavy commercial vehicles banned from Ghaziabad from 29 July to 12 August; light vehicles and buses restricted from 5 August.
NH‑58 and Ganga Canal Road closed from 4 to 12 August, with traffic rerouted via Deoband, Pachenda, Mirapur, and Mawana.
