Delhi officials are checking the city’s voter list through a process called the Special Intensive Revision.

Arvind Kejriwal and several members of his family received notices asking them to provide documents.

The Aam Aadmi Party said this meant their names were missing from the voter list and questioned how that could happen.

An Election Commission official said the names were still on the list.

The official explained that the notices were sent because the voters could not be linked to the previous voter list or had small information differences.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also received a notice because of a difference involving her parents’ recorded ages.

Officials later said her information had been checked and her name was included in the final list.

More than 31 lakh voters received similar notices across Delhi.

People can respond with documents during the claims period, and officials plan to finish reviewing the notices by October 10.
