A young engineer from India named Dileep was in a very bad car accident in Ohio, in the United States.
A pickup truck driving in the opposite direction crossed the middle of the highway and crashed into his car.
Dileep was hurt so badly that he sadly died at the scene.
Three other people were injured and were taken to the hospital.
He was 26 years old and had moved to America to study.
He finished his master's degree at Kent State University in 2025 and had just started working for a software company.
The Indian consulate in New York is helping his family during this difficult time.
A group called the North America Telugu Society started a fundraiser to support his parents and brother.
His father is a farmer, and the family had made big sacrifices to pay for his education.

Dileep Kumar Bungatavula, a 26-year-old software engineer from Andhra Pradesh, died on August 7, 2026, after a pickup truck crossed the centre median and struck his sedan head-on on Interstate 480 in the Macedonia area of Ohio.
He died at the scene, while three other people were injured and taken to hospital; police said the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
Bungatavula, a native of Jettivaripalli village in Kadapa district, completed a Master of Science at Kent State University in 2025 and had recently started working for a software company in the United States.
The Consulate General of India in New York confirmed the death in a post on X and said it is extending all possible assistance to his family in India.
The North America Telugu Society launched a fundraiser, noting his father Sreehari Bungatavula is a farmer and the family made significant sacrifices for his education; his family is arranging to bring his remains back to India for final rites.
