Haryana STF Arrests 512 in 2026 Crackdown on Gangs and Extortion

Haryana police are trying to stop gangs and extortion.

Extortion means threatening someone to make them give money.

The police say their Special Task Force arrested 512 accused people during the first eight months of 2026.

Some were wanted criminals, gang members, or people accused of other serious crimes.

Police also registered 109 extortion cases this year.

They say they are investigating the larger networks that provide gangs with people, weapons, and money.

Some suspected gangsters who went abroad were returned to India or detained overseas.

Police also say they stopped many possible shootings, killings, and bomb attacks.

They plan to keep working with agencies in India and other countries.
