Philippine Student Livestreams Fatal School Shooting Before Taking Own Life
A very sad thing happened at a high school in the Philippines.
A student brought two guns to school.
He shot a fellow student and then hurt himself, and sadly both of them died.
He filmed parts of what happened with a small camera on his body and showed it on Facebook Live.
The school had to let hundreds of students leave the building so they would be safe.
Two other people were hurt, but most students were okay.
Police came quickly and said the danger was over.
They do not know yet why the student did this, and they are looking at the games he played and the messages he sent.
This was the second school shooting in the Philippines in two months, after a shooting in June in Tacloban where three students died.
Leaders in the country are worried and want schools to be safe places.
Grade 9 student Mohammad Mael Jalani shot and killed a Grade 10 classmate at Ateneo de Zamboanga before killing himself on Tuesday.
Jalani livestreamed parts of the attack on Facebook Live using a body-worn camera and also fired at a teacher, apparently missing.
Two other people were injured, hundreds of students were evacuated, and classes were suspended.
It was the second fatal school shooting in the Philippines in two months, after the June attack in Tacloban City that killed three students.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered an investigation, and the attack came days after a school shooting in Thailand that prompted Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to restrict guns.
