Indore Smart City Company Seeks Loan for MOG Lines Project
The city of Indore wants to improve an area called MOG Lines.
The company that handles smart city work in Indore needs more money to finish this project.
So it is asking banks for a loan of up to 100 crore rupees.
Earlier, a bank called the State Bank of India said yes to lending the money.
But the company did not take the money in time, so the permission went away.
Now the company is trying to get a new loan.
Some work is already happening, and the company also wants to sell part of the land to get money.
There is another stopped building project called Kala Sankul that needs about 20 crore rupees to finish.
A different city authority is asking the state government to give money for that project.
This way, the city hopes to complete its development plans.
Indore Municipal Corporation's Smart City Company is preparing to raise an interest-bearing loan of Rs 50-100 crore for the MOG Lines project.
CEO Ardh Jain said the project is a redevelopment initiative, with work progressing while efforts are underway to sell part of the project land.
An earlier Rs 100-crore loan approved by the State Bank of India lapsed because the sanctioned amount was never availed.
Around Rs 20 crore is required to complete the stalled Kala Sankul project on MG Road.
The Indore Development Authority has sought a grant from the state government for the Kala Sankul work.
