Husband, Mother-in-Law Arrested in Ballia Dowry Death Case

Sometimes, when people get married in some places, the groom's family wrongly asks the bride's family for money or gifts — this is called a 'dowry', and it is against the law.

A woman named Goldi Yadav got married in 2021, but her husband's family kept complaining that they did not get enough.

Her family even paid them 3 lakh rupees for a car, but the in-laws still wanted more.

Goldi became very scared and called her own family to say she thought her in-laws wanted to hurt her.

Sadly, a short time later, Goldi died.

The police believe her husband's family harmed her because of the dowry demands.

Police arrested her husband and her mother-in-law.

Her father-in-law and brother-in-law are also named in the police report.
