20-Year Sentence for Man Convicted of Sexual Assault in Mangaluru
A man named Sonu Maclin Noronha was caught hurting a young girl in Mangaluru.
He met her in February 2024 and then forced her to do things he wanted.
He also threatened to show her private pictures and to hurt her family if she didn’t keep doing what he asked.
The police found evidence and took him to court.
The court said he must go to prison for 20 years and pay a fine.
Sonu Maclin Noronha, 20, was convicted of sexual assault on a minor in Mangaluru.
He repeatedly assaulted the girl from September 2024 to June 2025 and threatened to release private photos and kill her family.
The Fast Track Special Court sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a Rs 50,000 fine.
Additional penalties included one year imprisonment and a Rs 5,000 fine under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, POCSO Act, and IT Act.
The case was investigated by Inspector TD Nagaraj and prosecuted by Special Public Prosecutor Sahana Devi.
