Western Railway assigns officials to tackle stray dog menace

Some train stations in Mumbai, India, have stray dogs roaming around.

The people who run the trains want to make sure everyone stays safe.

So they chose special workers, called station masters and station superintendents, to watch each station.

These workers will look for dogs and answer when people complain.

They will also try to stop dogs from getting inside the station.

If a dog is caught, city workers will take it to a shelter.

The station workers will talk directly to the city office, called the BMC, to get help.

They will also write down every complaint and what they did about it.

This information will be shared to keep track of the problem.

The plan started after a very important court, the Supreme Court, gave instructions about stray dogs in busy public places.
