Andhra Pradesh gives money every month to people who qualify for government pensions.

Minister Ponguru Narayana said the government has spent Rs 76,000 crore on these payments so far.

He said Rs 2,692 crore was released for the latest distribution.

More than 61 lakh people are receiving pensions.

The payments are made on the first day of each month.

Narayana said the pension was increased to Rs 4,000 under the current coalition government.

He also compared Andhra Pradesh’s pension with lower amounts in several other states.

Government officials distributed pensions in Nellore on Thursday.
