Heavy rain prompts Jharkhand warning for waterfall tourists

Heavy rain fell across parts of Jharkhand on Thursday.

The weather department said some places could receive very heavy rain.

It also warned about lightning and strong winds.

Rainfall was expected to become weaker from Friday evening.

The rain made several waterfalls flow much more strongly than usual.

Fast water, slippery rocks and sudden water-level rises can be dangerous.

Officials told people not to go near the waterfalls.

Two tourists had already been rescued from Hundru Falls after being swept away while taking a selfie.

Lightning and gusty winds of up to 50 kmph were possible in some districts.
