Monsoon Session Fails to Serve the People

Parliament is where grown-ups make rules for the country.

This time, the meeting of Parliament, called the monsoon session, did not go well.

It started on July 20, the same day students went to Parliament to complain about exams being cancelled.

The police were very rough with the students, and some officers wore masks and did not show their names.

Important leaders like the Home Minister and the Prime Minister did not come to answer questions.

The government passed 12 new rules, but almost all of them were passed without talking about them much.

Talking about rules is important because it helps find mistakes.

The people who are supposed to argue against the rules also did not do their job well.

Instead of discussing, they caused disruptions.

Both sides should have worked together to make good rules.

In the end, the session did not help the people of the country.
