A woman named Savita, who was 32 years old, passed away in a very sad incident.
The police say she shot herself with a rifle that belonged to her husband.
Her husband, Tinku Singh, is a police constable, so the rifle was his work gun.
Savita was hurt on the right side of her neck and died right away at their home.
Her husband was taking a bath at that time and did not see what happened.
Their home was a rented house in Saharanpur district, in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Savita and Tinku Singh had two daughters, aged five and three.
When the neighbours heard the loud gunshot sound, they came to see what was going on.
The police came to the house and started to find out what happened.
They are talking to the family, neighbours, and the landlord because they want to understand why this sad thing happened.
