Two Naga Farmers Killed in Manipur Ambush, Shutdowns Declared
In a part of India called Manipur, some farmers were walking to their fields very early in the morning when a group of armed men shot at them.
Four farmers were hurt in the shooting.
Two of them were seriously hurt and sadly passed away at the hospital.
The other two farmers were taken by helicopter to another hospital so doctors could help them.
The farmers lived in a village called Langka Naga Village.
People believe a big group of about 50 armed men carried out the shooting.
Just two days before, the leader of the state had asked everyone to give up their weapons.
After the shooting, Naga leaders called for a shutdown, which means shops close and people stay home to show they are upset.
A former leader visited the hurt families and said the cycle of violence must end.
